Two journalists share how agriculture can get its stories out

Agriculture is one of our most important industries – economically, socially and culturally. Yet it rarely makes mainstream news unless there’s a crisis and the industry struggles to get the attention of media outside of its own world.

Join us for a webinar with two journalists who do cover agriculture for urban and mainstream outlets as they share their perspectives on what grabs their attention.

What attracts them to agricultural stories – and what are definite nos? What do they look for in spokespeople? What types of supports to do they find useful when working on a story and how can agriculture do a better job of delivering those?

David Zura is a video journalist who often covers agriculture and food related topics as part of his beat with CityNews Toronto.

Ed White is a former reporter with Glacier Farm Media and in the last year has joined Reuters as an agriculture reporter.
